Patience

It seems crazy to begin the next blog when I just posted the last one, but my kitchen is going to be undergoing a face lift for the next week. I have no idea how dirty the house will get or how much time I will have to write, so here goes. I’m having the cabinets re-faced. The finish was coming off the old ones and I wasn’t in love with the color, so it seems like the thing to do. I’ll let you know in about a week.

It also seems crazy that we are nearing the end of January. Nearly one/twelfth of our year has slipped by me already. Good Grief!

Project Begins:

So far I have plenty of time to write, because the workers have not shown up. That is not the way I like to begin a project. I did get the kitchen completely ready, which means it is pretty much unusable. Breathe.

They did show up. I always forget they have to load equipment and supplies, etc.

So, for me at least, when one appliance quits, three quit. Does that happen to anyone else? I’m up to two now, wondering which one will be the third.

It took some searching but I came up with the manuals and receipt for the old oven-microwave combo I’m selling. They don’t fit the new configuration. Finding them made me feel like my organizational mania isn’t all bad.

I kind of like the noise and comings and goings of the people working on my project. Maybe by the end of the week, I won’t like it so much. One never knows. I am excited though. So far, they’re just taking the old stuff apart and got the oven out. I want to see what the ‘new’ looks like. Patience, Barb, patience.
